Dr. Wheeless is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His practice includes surgery of the knee, hip, and shoulder, as well as general Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement. Whether arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement, or cartilage regeneration is required, Dr. Wheeless is vastly experienced and successful in the most up to date techniques of orthopaedic surgery. He was voted one of the Best Doctors in Dallas 2005 by D Magazine.

Dr. Wheeless was raised in Dallas and has been practicing Orthopaedic Surgery here since 1986. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Dr. Wheeless completed medical school at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He then finished his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.
